Equanimity - 49 - beige cheap

This is a 15 decade rosary.

Beard balm. For a few years now, I've owned a tiny tin of sandalwood and rosemary beard balm. I don't think it's my thing, but I enjoyed the aroma. Since I am familiar with rosemary, I decided the pleasant defining scent was probably from the sandalwood and took the opportunity to purchase sandalwood beads. Due to my oversight/lack of consideration, the bead holes were too small. I considered enlarging the holes, but that would be a lot of work. I considered other cord options, and eventually remembered I used to have a thinner cord (1.4 mm), so I ordered some more, and instead of white, I chose this beige color hoping for a nice match with the beads. What do you think?

The beads are remarkably aromatic--not quite like my bead balm, though. The smell association I have with these beads is like the wood shavings used with gerbils/hamsters/guinea pigs. I also use Holy Land olive wood beads. I keep them packaged, and they smell, but the smell is gone by the time the rosary is complete. These are much different; releasing a detectable smell from about a foot away and leaving a scent on my hands when I touch them.

These sandalwood beads are a natural butterscotch color without a protective or glossy coating. Many have a light striping. It is my understanding that with use the beads will eventually lose their scent and darken (presumably from finger oils). It may be possible to re-scent the beads with aromatic oils, but unless you wear gloves, plan for the beads to darken.

As for the centerpiece, it is a Victorian Heart vintage reproduction made of bronze; a little flair for an otherwise ordinary (but scenty) 15 decade rosary.
